Timing Token VRC-13

The Rights Internet - A Universal Protocol for Time-Based Digital Rights

Dr. Bright, June 2026

Overview

Bitgold VRC-13 Timing Token is a foundational protocol developed for the Internet of Entitlements. Unlike digital currency, digital securities, or NFT protocols that represent assets themselves, VRC-13 defines the entitlement relationships generated by those assets over specific periods of time.

Keywords: Timing Token, VRC-13, Entitlements.

The Rights Internet

The Information Internet represented by HTTP established a global standard for information access. Blockchain and the Value Internet enabled digital assets to be registered, transferred, and settled without central institutions. VRC-13 explores the next layer: a unified way to express, verify, manage, and circulate rights.

Rights include usage rights, access rights, control rights, service rights, and revenue rights. They are generated throughout an object's lifecycle and form the basis of service economies, sharing economies, platform economies, and digital economies.

Timing Theory

VRC-13 proposes that objects possess both value and time. The value attribute determines an object's capacity to create economic value, while the time attribute controls how that value is released during its lifecycle.

A car, a building, a hotel room, a software service, or an AI model does not realize all of its value at once. Its usable rights are generated gradually through ownership, access, control, service, and revenue relationships.

Timing Object and Timing URI

The Timing Object is a digital model for time-based entitlement relationships. Physical assets such as vehicles, buildings, devices, and products, together with digital assets such as domain names, digital identities, AI Agents, and software services, can be represented through a unified object model.

The Timing URI provides a unified identification framework for these objects and their rights. One example described in the protocol is a URI representing the one-day usage right of a specific Model Y vehicle identified by its unique equipment ID.

Protocol Architecture

VRC-13 focuses on the continuous equity relationships created during an object's lifecycle rather than on the asset itself. Through the Timing Object model, hierarchical object structures, and Timing URI, each entitlement can be represented as a recognizable, verifiable, manageable, and tradable digital entity.

Application Scenarios

  • Storage of publicly available information on-chain
  • Web3 domain names as third-generation internet identities
  • AI-Agent DID systems and rights networks
  • Ownership and use rights for physical equipment
  • Digital delivery vouchers, coupons, and consumer rights
  • Smart door locks, smart homes, and device collaboration
  • Comprehensive RWA rights and equity scenarios

Economic Model

The Timing Token supports the economic circulation of rights and interests through protocol value growth, network value, market penetration, AI Agent growth, DID adoption, and long-term market valuation models. The model considers rights-based assets a major future extension of the Value Internet.

Outlook

Bitgold expects the internet to evolve from connecting information and value to connecting rights. VRC-13 is intended to provide a standards-based foundation for collaboration among people, devices, AI Agents, digital identities, physical assets, and autonomous systems.
